The Maricopa Native Seed Library provides free seeds (with instructions!) to help bring indigenous plants into urban home landscapes, and Phoenix College participates as a distribution site. These seeds are generally not for edible harvest but rather to aid pollinators and local ecological health (and beauty in our desert!).
Located just inside the entrance of the Library, this natural collection requires no ID or library card and nothing to return. Up to 3 packets may be selected per week through the end of February 2025.
Please check Library hours to find a time to stop by and pick up your packets.
After February, our distribution model will change to short-term seed selections: instead of maintaining inventory year-round, we will host seasonal events that offer seeds appropriate to the upcoming planting season.
